thing 4

I liked this activity a little better, I do enjoy reading info from my favorite "people" so this was useful. I was not able to subscribe through the blogger or tech site so I just went directly to the websites I enjoy and subscribed through there.
However much I like or dislike these activities, there is still a little voice inside my head that tells me my time would be better served reading Allie Finkle #4 or Chains rather than the blogs about these books. I would rather honestly tell a patron that yes, I read this book or that one and give my opinion in person to that patron, rather than blogging about it.
Maybe I am still to old school for this new tech era. I will keep trying with an open mind.

thing 3

I did not like techorati, first, it locked me up several times. Then, when I asked for blogs from certain authors, it gave me blogs about the authors or their books but not in a format I was interested in.
I then did a google blog search and I liked it better. It still did not bring up the author's personal blogs, (which is what i was hoping for) but the results were more interesting. There were blogs from book stores and other book bloggers. The info on those blogs seemed more interesting.
I am still trying to wrap my head around this reading blogs thing. I just like to read blogs from famous authors or famous people. Or I like to read blogs of people I know. Reading just random blogs from strangers is just not my thing. But I will keep trying to figure this out.

thing 2

we need to do more to connect with our patrons and if learing how to blog or use myspace is the answer, then we should try and learn.
i am tech challenged, this should be an interesting experience.
